About the Foundation
The ZooBC Foundation supports the long-term decentralisation, security, adoption, and open development of the ZooBC network.
Read the mandateThe mandate
The Foundation funds public-good work, runs grants and education programmes, publishes what it does with the money, and stays out of the way of the network's own governance.
It exists to hold funds, make grants, publish reports, and coordinate. It exists to be accountable, not to own what it stewards.
Clear boundaries
A short list is more honest than a long promise.
Separation by design
Credible stewardship depends on understanding where authority begins and where it ends.
Open infrastructure. Owned by nobody.
Neutral steward. The subject of this site.
A separate commercial engineering company and founding contributor.
Everyone who runs, uses, proposes, votes, translates, moderates, and builds.
Institutional independence
Blockchain Zoo PTE. LTD. is a commercial engineering firm and one of the ZooBC network's founding contributors. It is a separate legal entity from the Foundation.
Its work may be funded through Foundation grants under the same open-application rubric published on the Grants page. Any such grant will be disclosed with amount, milestones, and outcomes on the Transparency page, and signed off under a conflicts-of-interest policy published at incorporation.
Governance in one view
The Foundation participates in one and administers the other. It controls neither.
Protocol governance
Consensus parameters, fee schedules, and protocol upgrades are decided by on-chain vote of the node owners. The Foundation may propose and participate, but it has no privileged vote.
Foundation governance
Grant category weights, programme changes, reporting cadences, and appointments are also decided on-chain. The mechanism is the same; the electorate differs.
Formation status
Confidence begins with an honest account of the Foundation's current legal and operating state.
The Foundation will be incorporated in Switzerland once the initial funding rounds close. Until then it operates as an unincorporated body under founder stewardship, with decisions recorded and prepared for transfer to the incorporated entity at formation.
The incorporation number, articles of association, board composition, and applicable audit findings will be published when they exist.
Roberto Capodieci holds the presidency. The full board and staff will be seated at incorporation. Current founding roles and open seats are published on the People page.
